Yesterday I woke up early and decided I was going to head out early to take photos, I wanted to take photos of a local event called Glen Fest. Glen Fest is a family fun day in the Glen Rovers Hurling and Football Club which had begun this year. Despite the heavy rain that fell throughout the night and morning there was a huge turnout throughout the day. The gates opened at 10 so I got my gear ready and walked down to try take some photos. I met the people in charge of PR and began taking photos of the various events that were happening throughout the pitch! There was a farmers market, fitness classes, matches for children of all ages, face painting, bouncy castles, obstacle courses to name a few. I walked around and took photos of the events, The atmosphere and sense of community was great! I even bumped into my old teacher.
After spending an hour or so at the event I went back home to edit the photos and sent them out to the papers. A few hours later I went back to the event with my family and there was an even larger crowd then there was during the morning. The entire area seemed to be there enjoying the day. The day finished off with some raffles and prizes were given out for the competitions which were held throughout the day.
Glen Fest was a major success for the club and I hope to see it become a regular community event!
