In the face of recent challenges, including unexpected car and camera repairs and a strained client relationship, I've found myself struggling with doubts and uncertainties. Despite my past resilience, each day has felt like an uphill battle. However, with the unwavering support of my partner, Becca, I'm committed to persevering and moving forward. This post serves as both a personal release and a reminder that even during the toughest times, the key is to keep pushing forward, one step at a time. As the lyrics of one of my favorite songs say: 'There's traffic on the bridge, a woman on the ledge, and everywhere the wind, everything is happening at once.'
Transitioning from a corporate role in Lean management to entrepreneurship marked a pivotal moment in my career. What initially began as a six-month contract at GE transformed into an enriching two-year journey, characterized by personal growth and skill acquisition. As I bid farewell to my GE colleagues, I embraced the entrepreneurial spirit, establishing my business, Damian Coleman Visual Solutions. Alongside my commitment to pursuing photography, videography, and graphic design, my collaboration with Lean Kaizen Consulting Ltd continues, reflecting my dedication to diverse skill sets and professional excellence. Grateful for the support and opportunities, I eagerly anticipate the next chapter of this remarkable journey.

Capturing press moments has always been an exhilarating part of my work. Yet, today's events brought a stark and sorrowful reality. A routine walk to town turned into a heartbreaking encounter with a flurry of emergency vehicles rushing past me. Curiosity led me to capture the scene, unaware of the unfolding tragedy. Later, I learned that a young child had tragically choked on a window blind cord and didn't survive despite swift medical attention. The gravity of the situation lingered heavily, impacting me and the entire community. My heartfelt condolences go out to all affected by this devastating loss.
Despite the heavy morning rain, the Glen Rovers Hurling and Football Club's Glen Fest attracted a vibrant crowd. With a variety of activities such as fitness classes, matches for all ages, and a bustling farmers market, the event radiated a strong sense of community. Capturing the lively atmosphere, I ventured through the festivities, capturing the spirit of togetherness. Even a chance encounter with my old teacher added a nostalgic touch. Glen Fest undoubtedly marked a successful day for the club, and I'm hopeful it will continue to thrive as an annual community celebration.
Yesterday morning, my family and I embarked on a delightful trip to Youghal in East Cork for the annual Youghal Medieval Festival. Blessed with fantastic weather, we strolled through the town before reaching the event, held in the gardens of St Mary's College. Among the attendees was British TV personality Vanessa Feltz with her partner Ben and their grandchildren, whom I was fortunate enough to photograph! The event catered to the entire family, featuring arts and crafts workshops, puppet shows, enthralling re-enactments, and even a creative fundraiser for the Youghal RNLI
